Advanced Digital Library Topics

Students who have taken SLIS 5740 introduction to digital libraries are welcome to continue working with Dr. Chen on a topic of their interest. This special problem course will allow student to explore a digital library topic systematically. Student will conduct literature review and participate in Dr. Chen's related research project(s) to gain hands-on experience on digital library research and development.

Possible areas of interest in Web Content Analysis:

(1) Automatic digital collection development ;

(2) The organization, storage, and retrieval of digital objects;

(3) Digital Library devleopment using open-source tools;

(4) Blog analysis in specific domains;
